Beth Burden – Pre-Kindergarten Teacher (4-Day Class)
Elizabeth (Beth) Burden is wife to Pastor Tim Burden; mother of 4 children: Rachel (Daniel) Foster, Matt Burden, David (Valerie) Burden, and Jonathan Burden; and grandmother of Ezra, Josiah and Elliana Burden (in Warsaw, IN) Hope, Abigail, and Elijah Foster (Nashville, TN). Beth and Tim met at Malone University in Canton, OH and married two years later in 1975. Beth and Pastor Tim have passionately served as a team pastoring and leading our congregation here at Trinity Family Life Center since 2011.
Since coming to Pickerington Beth has taught Preschool / Pre-Kindergarten for 7 years, and is very excited about the opportunity to teach here at Trinity Learning Center Preschool as it grows and blesses the children and families in our community. Beth brings a great deal of experience to her teaching in our Preschool. Not only as Beth worked as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher, but also as a Kindergarten Assistant Teacher in the Van Wert Public School system in Van Wert, OH for 7 years, from which she received numerous awards for service and acclaim from all she worked with. Other experiences working with children include homeschooling with her own children and when she and Tim were missionaries in Amsterdam, Holland and in Liberia, West Africa. Children have been a special focus on Beth’s heart on the many mission trips and experiences in Mexico and Cuba as well. Of course, Beth has served in the children’s ministries and VBS programs at all the churches Tim was appointed to serve. Along with children, music has always been a special love of Beth’s. Maybe because she was a high school cheerleader Beth loves to inspire children to sing and worship the Lord from the heart. Her love for children and her love for the Lord are what make her a special teacher to help your child build a foundation for a lifetime of learning and blessing.
Pre-K Plus & Kindergarten Teacher
Debbie Crum comes to us from Lancaster, OH and has been happily married to her husband, Bill, for 29 yrs. They have 3 successful adult children, Jennifer who is happily married and lives in Fort Wayne, IN with her husband and 2 young boys, Wes who is enjoying his life in Denver, CO and works with an accounting firming in mergers and acquisitions, and her youngest daughter, Sarah, is a fashion merchandiser with Eloquii here in Columbus and she has a beautiful daughter.
After graduating from college with a BSN Debbie practiced Pediatric Hematology/Oncology nursing until the birth of her youngest child when she became a full time stay at home mom! When her youngest started school she began teaching and eventually received her teaching certificate and became a full time 2nd grade teacher and school curriculum director. Then just 6 years ago she once again a stay at home mom but this time it was a stay at home “grandma”! As her granddaughter enters elementary school, she finds herself back in the education field and is joining us at Trinity as our Kindergarten teacher. Debbie has a unique prospective as she has not only is she on staff but also, she has been a grandparent of one of our “graduated” students, this gives her experience from both sides of the preschool equation. Debbie’s strong passion for Christian education and her God-centered focus to make a positive impact in the lives of young learners makes her a great fit for our team here at Trinity.
Wendy Lewis – Preschool Teacher (3 day class)
Wendy Lewis has attended Trinity Church for more than 33 years. Over the years, she has served at Trinity in many areas such as, the women’s ministry, Sunday school, and nursery. She has also facilitated Bible studies, and served on various committees here at our church. Wendy brings so much knowledge and commitment to our team of teachers here at Trinity. She brings great excitement to the 3 day classroom. Wendy enjoys introducing the children to fun activities, songs, finger-plays, and stories in the classroom as they experience learning and growing together in preschool. Wendy, originally was called to the nursing field, however, when she began volunteering with troubled youth her path changed. Wendy worked at the Hannah Neil Center for Children for 23 years. The center provided structure, stability, and caring for children, 6 to 13 years old, removed from their homes. She worked on the living unit with the children, developing great bonds and relationships with them. When the center began a transition to close, Wendy began a new chapter working with special needs children for the Dublin City Schools for 16 years as a Paraprofessional. Once again she found herself building close, partnering relationships with the children she served. She attended class with her students, modified curriculum, and helped students with difficulties succeed in school.
Wendy counts all of her past experiences as blessings from the Lord. God has given her many years of experience to serve children and their families. We, at Trinity consider her to be a blessing to not only the children and families but also to our teaching team.

Trinity Learning Center Preschool was pleased to welcome Kayla to our team a few years ago as an assistant under Beth Burden in the pre-kindergarten class. Kayla has also taught in our 3 day class with Wendy Lewis. Now that Kayla has recently had her second sweet baby boy, she has made a temporary switch to being a substitute teacher for us. When Kayla rejoins us in the classroom she brings a kind of joy and excitement that can’t be contained!
