Beth Burden – Pre-Kindergarten Teacher (4-Day Class)
Elizabeth (Beth) Burden is wife to Pastor Tim Burden; mother of 4 children: Rachel (Daniel) Foster, Matt Burden, David (Valerie) Burden, and Jonathan Burden; and grandmother of Ezra and Josiah Burden (in Warsaw, IN) Hope and Abigail Foster (Nashville, TN). Beth and Tim met at Malone University in Canton, OH and married two years later in 1975. Beth and Pastor Tim have passionately served as a team pastoring and leading our congregation here at Trinity Family Life Center since 2011.
Since coming to Pickerington Beth has taught Preschool / Pre-Kindergarten for 6 years, and is very excited about the opportunity to teach here at Trinity Learning Center Preschool as it grows and blesses the children and families in our community. Beth brings a great deal of experience to her teaching in our Preschool. Not only as Beth worked as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher, but also as a Kindergarten Assistant Teacher in the Van Wert Public School system in Van Wert, OH for 7 years, from which she received numerous awards for service and acclaim from all she worked with. Other experiences working with children include homeschooling with her own children and when she and Tim were missionaries in Amsterdam, Holland and in Liberia, West Africa. Children have been a special focus on Beth’s heart on the many mission trips and experiences in Mexico and Cuba as well. Of course, Beth has served in the children’s ministries and VBS programs at all the churches Tim was appointed to serve. Along with children, music has always been a special love of Beth’s. Maybe because she was a high school cheerleader Beth loves to inspire children to sing and worship the Lord from the heart. Her love for children and her love for the Lord are what make her a special teacher to help your child build a foundation for a lifetime of learning and blessing.
Pre-K Plus & Kindergarten Teacher
My name is Rachel Battocletti, Ms. Batt for short! I am excited to be teaching Kindergarten and I know we will have a fun and productive year. I wanted to take some time to introduce myself and let you know a little bit about me. I was born and raised here in Ohio, however, I graduated from the University of South Carolina, where I taught third and fourth graders. Now that I have returned home to Ohio, I still remain an avid Gamecocks fan! In my spare time, I like to exercise, read books, go visit new places, and enjoy fellowship time at church. As a teacher, I believe that every student has the ability to do accomplish greatness. In my classroom, every student is encouraged to learn with an open mind and push through challenging situations. In my eyes, every student is an individual capable of learning. Therefore, I strive to tailor instructional activities to each student’s unique needs and abilities. It is my goal to help every student succeed and I promise to work my hardest to ensure they do.
In addition to my passion for teaching, I have an even stronger passion for serving the Lord! I want to share the love of Jesus with everyone I meet, and tell them of the hope I have found in him! I’m am ecstatic that here at Trinity Learning Center Preschool we are unashamed of our faith, and it extends into our classrooms.
Wendy Lewis – Preschool Teacher
As the newest member of the Trinity Learning Center Preschool team I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Wendy Lewis, I have attended Trinity Family Life Center for 33 years. Over the years, it has been my pleasure to serve at Trinity in many areas such as, the women’s ministry, Sunday school, and nursery. I have also facilitated Bible studies, and serve on various committees here at our church. I’m so excited to join the TLC team and introduce our three year old’s to the joys of learning and growing together in preschool. My original career choice was nursing, but when I started to volunteer with troubled youth my path changed. I worked at the Hannah Neil Center for Children for 23 years. The center provided structure, stability, and caring for children, 6 to 13 years old, removed from their homes. I worked on the living unit with the children. When the center began a transition to close, I began a new chapter working with special needs children. I worked for the Dublin City Schools for 16 years as a Paraprofessional. We attended class with our students, modified curriculum, and helped our students succeed in school.
The Lord has blessed me these many years with the joy and privilege of working with children and their families. As a Trinity Learning Center Preschool teacher I am excited to share God’s love with our students and their families as well as, support them as they begin their academic journey.
Kayla Pheneger – PreSchool Teacher
Kayla Pheneger is wife to Landon and mother to her new bundle of joy, Oaklius. Kayla has lived in Pickerington all of her life. While growing up here in Pickerington, Kayla had always dreamed of being a school teacher. Therefore, after graduating from Pickerington, she attended Anderson University in South Carolina; there she studied Early Childhood Education. She then furthered her education by attending Ohio Dominican University with a major in Child Psychology and Art Therapy. In her spare time, Kayla enjoys getting to spend time with her son and husband. She also takes part in being outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and zip lining. Kayla loves fitness and eating healthy; you can find her in the gym almost daily doing yoga, Zumba, running, you name it and she’ll be there!
Trinity Learning Center Preschool was pleased to welcome Kayla to their team last year as an assistant under Beth Burden in the pre-kindergarten class. Kayla is excited to be the lead teacher for our preschool class. It is evident that she has a heart and passion in teaching children! Kayla has enjoyed serving here at Trinity for many years in areas such as, vacation bible school, being a youth leader and ministering to children on mission trips to Mexico. Kayla loves to get creative and make things, she especially enjoys helping children explore their own creativity. Her positive approach in life makes it easy for everyone to see that she likes to have fun and can make any task a little more enjoyable. Kayla is anticipating the oncoming school year and all that it has to offer. She is excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the TLC team and to invest in the lives of the young children.
